Central Ontario manufacturer gives $50K to area food banks

Share

A Canadian manufacturer with branches in central Ontario has announced a $50,000 donation to various food banks across the province.

The donation from Buchner Manufacturing will be split amongst five communities it has bases in, including $10,000 to Owen Sound's food bank and another $10,000 in Newmarket.

Jeremy Buchner, the vice-president of sales and marketing, says its important to support the communities that have supported them for more than four decades, calling them the company's backbone.

"We wouldn't be where we are without them. So we want to give back and we want to be a focal point in the community, support the communities that have supported us. So it feels great and I hope to be in a position where we can do an even bigger donation down the road," said Buchner.

The other beneficiaries include operations in Kingston, Pefferlaw and North Bay. The company also collected and donated food to the local food banks as well.
