Traffic violation turns into long list of criminal charges for Alliston man: OPP

A driver in New Tecumseth is facing a long list of charges after allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and attempting to evade police.

Police with the Nottawasaga OPP detachment say the incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle near Arnold Crescent after it reportedly blew through a stop sign.

Police allege the driver fled on foot into a nearby home but was located by officers a knock at the door.

Police say the driver, identified as 25-year-old from Alliston, was under suspension at the time and was arrested at the scene.

The accused has been charged with several offences, including obstructing an officer, driving with cannabis readily available, and disobeying a stop sign.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days as part of the charges.
