Martin King was sitting on the couch, scratching his Instant Bingo Doubler when he suddenly realized he had won.

The Penetanguishene father of three and grandfather of three more, said he called to his wife to come verify his win.

“When I realized I’d won, I cried out to my wife, ‘Honey! I think I won $100,000!’ Her response was, ‘Yeah, right. Let me see’.”

“We reviewed the ticket together. To our surprise and delight, I had, in fact, won the top prize.”

A retiree, Martin said he’s going to pay off his mortgage with his $100,000 winnings. Once that’s done, he’ll still have the memory of the time they discovered they had the winning numbers.

In that moment, we were left stunned and speechless,” said Martin. “I’ve since shared the news with many people; half our town knows now.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Main Street in Penetanguishene.
