Police officers were in the north end of Barrie on Thursday morning, this time in the area of Livingstone Street West and McDougall Drive.

Police say officers responded to a call about a person in crisis.

“The Tactical Support Unit was on scene with the rescue vehicle, out of an abundance of caution,” Jennett May, corporate communications with Barrie Police Services, explained in an email to CTV News. “The rescue vehicle provides additional functionality for officers when responding to a call that may involve the need to approach a dynamic scene.”

The local authorities initiated a brief hold and secure as a precaution at nearby West Bayfield Public School.

The hold and secure was lifted less than an hour after being implemented.

During a hold and secure, the school day progresses as usual, but no one is permitted to enter or exit the building.

There was no word on any arrests or whether charges will be laid.

"Thankfully, today’s occurrence was concluded quickly and without incident," May added.
