The multiple-choice survey includes questions such as whether the participant has had any interactions with police, witnessed any crimes, or is familiar with the service’s programs and initiatives.
The survey also touches on just how safe residents feel in the city they call home and breaks down primary concerns.
It asks residents about their perception of the effectiveness of CCTV surveillance cameras to prevent crimes and increase safety.
One section of the survey focuses on safety in the city’s downtown core and questions what should be addressed through police partnerships, such as homelessness, mental health services, and addiction management.
It also touches on auto theft within the city, and what the service is doing in collaboration with South Simcoe police to combat the issue.
The Barrie Community Safety Survey is available online.
