A fire at the Walmart in Orangeville Friday morning caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Orangeville Fire was called to the store, which is located just off Highway 10, around 10:45 a.m.

When fire crews arrived they could see flames and smoke coming from inside the building. The Caledon Fire department was also called to help and it took crews about 30 minutes to put out the fire.

Orangville Fire Chief Andy Macintosh tells CTV news the fire started a large floor cleaner  in electrical room and then spread to the building.

Macintosh estimates damages will be hundreds of thousands of dollars and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Both the Ontario Fire Marshal and the Ministry of Labour have been called in to investigate.

The store was closed for most of the day but reopened late Friday afternoon.
