Ring's Barrie Wedding Expo

Barrie Fall Fishing Festival
Date:      Friday, September 21 to Sunday, September 30
Location: Barrie – Kempenfelt Bay – Headquarters location: Sea Cadet Building (Maple Ave)
Details:    8th Annual - The 2018 Barrie Fall Fishing Festival is a catch and release tagged Perch fishing tournament taking place over 10 days from September 21st to September 30th on beautiful Kempenfelt Bay. It encourages anglers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy fishing, the beautiful fall weather, and the spectacular fall colours of Kempenfelt Bay from boat or shore. A prize pool is in excess of $40,000 & is expected to attract 1,000+ anglers over the 10 days of the festival.

Pumpkin Festival and Haunted Adventures
Date:      Saturday, September 22 to Wednesday, October 31st
Location: Barrie – Chappell Farms - 617 Penetanguishene Rd.
Details:    Attractions include: Farmyard animals, a corn maze, Trike Track, Sand Diggers, wagon rides to pick a pumpkin from the field and many more play areas. Added attractions on weekends and holidays include: Magic shows, live entertainment, a jumping castle, and haunted tent. Pumpkins are large and plentiful this year!

Showcase of Homes
Date:      Sunday, September 23 from 10am to 4pm
Location: Barrie – Various locations
Details:    Showcase of Homes is a self-guided home tour that takes place in Barrie and the surrounding area. It began over 25 years ago and some of Barrie and area’s most distinguished and illustrious homes have been featured. There is a variety of small to large and old to new homes each year, each with their own unique appeal to suit many different tastes..  Funds raised support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District’s children and youth services.

Creemore Springs Oktoberfest
Date:      Saturday, September 22 from 11am to 10pm
Location: The Blue Mountains – Blue Mountain Village - 108 Jozo Weider Blvd
Details:    Drink, dance and be German! It’s time to roll out the barrels, slip on your lederhosen and get set for family fun and an Oompa-pa good time with fantastic activities and outdoor entertainment. The Creemore Springs Biergarten in the Events Plaza is the center of the action with Bavarian-inspired food and drink served up by Copper Blues, live music, traditional dancers, fun and games, and much more. “Celebrity Bartender” Kevin Brauch, host of The Thirsty Traveler on the Fine Living Network and Superstar Chef Challenge on Food Network Canada, will emcee the event to add a little something special to the festivities.

The Great Northern Exhibition

Pumpkin Mania

Details:    Coloured leaves, crisp air and pumpkins everywhere! Visit Rounds Ranch to get in the spirit of Fall during our Pumpkin Mania Festival! Enjoy wagon rides, goofy pumpkin-themed games, corn mazes, farm animals and our Western Playground! Each Guest will visit our large pumpkin patch and pick their own pumpkin to take home. Hike Haliburton

Location: Haliburton Highlands – Various locations
Details:    The Hike Haliburton Festival will see over 2,000 people participate in 100 hikes throughout the beautiful Haliburton Highlands. Hikers of all ages and abilities will come from across Ontario – and beyond – to take in the wonder of the Haliburton Highlands during Canada’s largest hiking festival! The Festival is more than just traditional hiking; heavily integrating the arts, culture, heritage and foodie experiences to truly showcase the area. There are lots of great events happening throughout the Festival as well, which anyone can attend! The Closing Ceremony on Sunday the 23rd will take place at the Haliburton Highlands Biggest Picnic Ever, which takes place in Head Lake Park (Haliburton Village) and features local food vendors, craft beers, live entertainment (The Satellites!), contests and more.

Taste of Grey
Date:      Sunday, September 23 from 1pm to 6pm
Location: Hanover - Ground Effects Event Center - 341411 Concession 2
Details:    This a great opportunity to focus on the art of craft beer, ciders and wines with samples from local breweries, ciders or wineries. Paired with your beverage choices will be food from local restaurants or caterers. Come find a new favourite while enjoying local musical talent, Andrew Litt, and a beautiful facility. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends sampling local craft beers, cider, wines, and food at this event hosted by the Hanover Lions Club. As part of the price of admission, you will be provided with a keepsake sampling mug and tokens to get you started.

40th Annual Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour

Free Kids' Fishing Day

Location: Orillia - Port of Orillia Fishing Pier - 50 Centennial Drive
Details:    Hosted by the Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club for the past 17 years.
 Children up to the age of 14 with a parent or guardian present are invited to

Sweet Honey Festival

Location: Parry Sound - Canadore College West Parry Sound Campus - 1 College Drive
Details:    Head to Canadore College in Parry Sound to their apiary for the Sweet Honey Festival.During the event you can be “hands on” with the honeybees and enjoy honey tasting, learn about honey, wine and cheese pairings, make “seed bombs”, purchase local honey, and enter the honey tasting contest.
 

Sainte-Marie among the Hurons - 2018 Season
Date:      Now to mid-October
Location:  Midland - Sainte-Marie among the Hurons - 16164 Hwy 12 E
Details:    Opens for the season! Ontario’s first European Community, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons was the headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the Huron Wendat people. Visitors get a unique opportunity to see the earliest Canadian pioneer life, through guided or self-guided visits, school group tours, interactive education programs and special events.  Visit the Interpretive Museum and themed gift shop, and complete your stay with a delicious meal in Restaurant Sainte-Marie. Sainte-Marie among the Hurons is pleased to offer fun and informative demonstrations and “hands-on” activities that share aspects of life in the 17th century. These include 17th century fire-starting, historic clothing and medicine, native games, 17th century music, historic cooking, and more. Additional activities for children will feature quill pen writing, candle making and corn husk doll making.
