Police charged the driver of an e-bike with impaired operation during a traffic stop in Wasaga Beach.

Provincial police say the officer stopped the e-bike on Main Street Wednesday night and detected an odour of alcohol on the driver.

Along with the impaired driving offences, the 53-year-old man from Scarborough also faces a charge of operating while prohibited.

Provincial police are out in full force during the holiday season with a goal of removing impaired drivers from the roads.

The annual Festive R.I.D.E. campaign kicked off earlier this month and runs until January 1, with spot checks day and night in various areas.
