Driver clocked at 175 km/hr claims water bottle rolled under gas pedal

An OPP officer clocked a man from Nottawasaga travelling on Highway 401 at 175 kilometres per hour on Friday.

In an X post, OPP say the driver claimed: "My water bottle rolled under my gas pedal, that's why I was speeding 175."

The 24-year-old Nottawasaga man was charged with stunt driving. His licence was suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
