OPP officers make triple arrests for impaired driving in 24 hour span
Huronia West OPP officers were busy back-to-back days after making triple arrests for impaired driving.
On Friday morning, an officer with the Huronia West OPP was conducting routine patrols near Zoo Park and River Road West in the Town of Wasaga Beach.
The officer said they stopped a black four-door Sedan to confirm the driver's licence status. In the midst of this stop, the police officer noticed the driver showing alleged signs of impairment and he was asked to submit to an evaluation by a drug recognition expert.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old man from the Town of Wasaga Beach was charged with operation while impaired, along with a handful of other charges.

On the same day, shortly after noontime, an officer was driving on Horseshoe Valley Road near Highway 26 in the Township of Springwater.
At that time, the officer said they witnessed a vehicle allegedly swerving in the lane and erratically navigating a curve. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made the driver do a roadside alcohol screening. The woman registered a failing score and was arrested for impaired driving.
As a result, a 64-year-old woman from Bracebridge, was charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
On Saturday, in the early hours of the morning, officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision. Police say a driver had overturned on the Sunnidale-Tosorontio Townline in the Township of Clearview.
OPP say witnesses were able to identify the driver and suspected that he was impaired by alcohol. When officers arrived on scene the driver had allegedly fled but was found a short distance away.
The investigating officer made the driver submit to roadside alcohol screening. After testing at the detachment, the accused 22-year-old man from Adjala-Tosorontio Township was charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, along with other charges.
Police say all accused drivers have been released and will appear before the courts at a later date.
