Driver blows over 3x legal alcohol limit after vehicle is spotted stopped at green light: OPP
A 50-year-old man is accused of impaired driving after a vehicle was spotted stopped at a green light in Caledon.
Provincial police say an officer patrolling Highway 10 around 2 a.m. on Monday noticed the vehicle at the intersection of Old School Road.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and allegedly discovered the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of over three times the legal limit.
Along with impaired driving charges, the man’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Provincial police are appealing to the public avoid getting behind the wheel if consuming drugs or alcohol.
OPP reports 370 lives have been lost in road crashes this year.
“It’s a simple message. If you drink, don’t drive. If you drive, don’t drink. Too many people will not be with their loved ones this new year,” stated OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
The OPP annual Festive R.I.D.E. campaign is underway until Jan. 1, with a stepped-up police presence on the roads to enforce and educate about the dangers of impaired driving.
Police remind motorists to call 911 if you suspect that a driver is impaired.
“The more people who do so, the fewer impaired drivers they will be sharing the road with,” OPP said.
