The Busby Centre in Barrie received an early Christmas present after a Simcoe County man donated tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert in Toronto, with proceeds going directly to support the non-profit organization.

Brian Brennon won two tickets online, front row in the Premium Ticketmaster Lounge, for Saturday’s show and contacted the staff at Busby Centre, which supports individuals struggling and living on the streets.

“I just thought, you know what, it would be good to give back,” said Brennan.

The team with the Busby Centre was in disbelief.

“This is going to help so many people,” said Louise Jackson, the Busby Centre's communications and events director, in an interview with CTV News last week.

The two-day silent auction kicked off on Thursday and quickly garnered bids.

“Every dollar raised will directly support the Busby Centre and the South Georgian Bay Busby Centre, helping us continue our mission to end homelessness and provide vital support,” the organization’s social media page noted.

When the bidding was closed, the two tickets sold for $11,050.

The top bidder’s identity is being withheld for privacy reasons , but Jackson said his wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed the concert.
