Police in our region are dealing with a problem of stunt driving on our roads over the past few days.
In one case a teenager was caught going more than 70 kilometres an hour faster the limit on Highway 400 in Springwater Township.
And on Wednesday, two different drivers at the same location were caught doing double the speed limit in Mono Township.
Police say they are seeing far too many cases of this type of speeding.
“The last few days we have seen young people driving at these great excessive speeds. I think people need realize that driving in the province of Ontario is privilege and not a right,” says OPP Constable Peter Leon.
Police are asking motorists to travel at the posted speed limit, if the weather is poor reduce your speed and drive accordingly.
If you are caught stunt driving, going 50km/h over the speed limit, you can be fined up to $10,000 and lose your licence and vehicle for at least seven days.
