Barrie Police are searching for three suspects after the use of counterfeit U.S. $50 bills in the city.

The bills were used by the suspects around 10:40 p.m. at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Yonge Street on Friday March 13th, 2015.

Police say the bills have been used at multiple stores within the city to purchase prepaid Visa and MasterCard credit cards.

Police are asking businesses to be extremely diligent when dealing with customers using American $50 and $100 bills.

They say if receiving multiple bills, check the serial numbers to ensure they are all different numbers and if there is any doubt as to the authenticity of the bills do not accept them and contact police.

If you have any information on the suspects you are asked to call the Barrie Police Fraud Unit at (705)725-7025 ext. 2941.
