A man charged with break and enter and failing to comply with probation 11 years ago in Marathon, Ontario was arrested in Barrie Tuesday night.
In 2003, the 31-year-old man was charged but then released with a court date. He never made his court date and a warrant was put out for his arrest.
On Tuesday around 9:00 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of a man and woman involved in a domestic dispute. Police say the man had been drinking.
When police investigated the incident they discovered the now 42-year-old was the same as man that didn’t show up for a court date in 2003 in Marathon.
Officers contacted the Thunder Bay Police but were told they were not in a position to return the man on his 11-year-old warrant.
Barrie Police did arrest the man for breaking of his probation conditions of abstaining from alcohol. He was arrested and held until a bail hearing.
