Police found a truck submerged in the Saugeen River in Southgate Township early this morning and a woman’s body was inside.
OPP say a 2007 GMC pickup truck had been heading west on Southgate Road 10 when it left the road, went down an embankment and then went into the river. Police say they don’t know what time it happened.
When police arrived to find the truck submerged, the woman’s body was seen in the driver’s side. There were no other bodies inside.
The OPP underwater unit removed the woman’s body from the vehicle. Her identity isn’t being released until her family is notified.
