Some residents along the Grand River in Grand Valley woke up to flooded basements and roads covered in water on Sunday April 13, 2014.

According the local conservation authority, more than 20 millimetres on rain fell Saturday night into Sunday.

People who live in the area say the river is higher than they’ve seen in a long time and there is more rain in the forecast for the next 24 hours.

Because of the flooding, Dufferin OPP have closed part of County Road 25 (Main Street) in Grand Valley on Sunday and the Grand River Watershed remains under a flood warning.
