York Regional Police are looking for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with three sexual assaults in Newmarket.
The first incident happened on September 30, 2015 at 2:25 p.m. in the area of Doubletree Lane and Austin Paul Drive. Police say a 16-year-old girl was approached by a man who grabbed her face and tried to kiss her. The teen was able to get away from the man. He then fled the scene in a grey or silver four-door car parked nearby.
A similar incident happened on October 8, 2015 around 6:00 p.m. in the area of Mulock Drive and Doubletree Lane. Police say a 20-year-old woman was walking in the area and a man grabbed her from behind, grabbed her face and kissed her. He let go of the woman and fled on foot.
Another woman has now come describing a similar incident. This one happened on August 31, 2015 around 1:15 a.m. in the area of Yonge Street at London Road. The 21-year-old woman was waiting at a bus shelter when she was approached by a man and he grabbed her face and attempted to kiss her. After a short struggle, the man ran away.
Police say these incidents are not believed to be connected to the five other reported sexual assaults in the north end of Newmarket.
The man in the kissing incidents is described as:
- Olive skin
- 20 to 30 years old
- Approx. 5’10”
- Stocky build, broad shoulders
- Round, chubby face
- Short black hair, clean shaven
- Small sparkly stud earring
The vehicle he was seen leaving in is described as:
- Older model four-door Toyota Camry or Mazda 626
- Light grey or silver
- Possible damage to the vehicle
