Borettini initially believed he had won much less than what he actually had.
"I thought I’d won $10,000 and I was thrilled. That’s when the store clerk confirmed it was actually $100,000. My heart nearly stopped. It was such an emotional and life-altering moment," he said.
After sharing the news with his wife, the couple shed tears of joy.
"At the end of the day, it’s just money, but being a lottery winner, now that’s something I can brag about," he laughed.
Borettini is looking forward to be mortgage-free with this win.
“It covers the balance of my mortgage. I have a feeling this is going to be a really good year,” he said. “This prize is a true blessing.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on County Road 10 in Stayner.
“It’s a fantastic feeling that I will never get over,” Borettini concluded.
