GO Transit riders on the Barrie line will have to make alternate plans for the weekend or use replacement buses with no train service available.

Metrolinx says trains will remain parked starting Friday until Sunday for work to commence, including installing culverts to prepare for the addition of a second track along the Barrie line.

GO buses will run between the Barrie Bus Terminal and Highway 407, serving all train stops except for Downsview GO from Friday at 10 p.m. until Sunday and Union Station on Saturday and Sunday.

Metrolinx is transforming GO Transit to bring two-way, all-day service to the Barrie line with access to new stations and transit connections.
