Two Wasaga Beach firefighters were about to start their shift on Friday morning when there was a knock on the door.
The pair was greeted by a man and a woman who were on their way to the hospital in Collingwood. Firefighters Jason Martin and Jamie Murphy quickly realized the woman was in labour and needed immediate help.
“We saw the baby crowning and it went from crowning to out in a very quick amount of time,” says Murphy.
They successfully helped deliver the baby before paramedics came to take the couple and the newborn baby girl to hospital.
“We do a lot of different calls, but when you get to see the happy parts of it that’s just a great feeling.”
Officials say mom and the baby girl are in good health.
