Third person charged in daytime theft at Gravenhurst legion

Police have charged a third person in connection to a daytime theft at a legion in Gravenhurst.

On Nov., 16, police began looking into a theft involving irreplaceable clothing items that were allegedly stolen from the Royal Canadian Legion on Veterans Way.

Officials say they were notified that the suspect had listed the clothing items on an online marketplace.

After police confirmed those details, a 49-year-old woman from Gravenhurst is up for charges of possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking stolen goods.

She will appear in the courts in February to answer to her charges.

The incident was captured on video surveillance as police say the legion was open for business at the time.

Officers have already charged two Gravenhurst residents, a 32-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, each with theft over $5,000.

Bracebridge OPP say that a collection of items were taken aside from the clothing, including a wheelchair, irreplaceable First World War and Second World War memorabilia.
