Dust off your shovels and prepare for this winter's first snow of the season.

Environment Canada has issued its first Weather Advisory for parts of our region, which could see up to five centimetres of snow.

Deeper snow is possible over higher terrains, the advisory says.

Lake-effect snow off of Georgian Bay is expected to bring heavy snow to Huntsville, Parry Sound, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and Baysville this morning.

Milder temperatures should limit snowfall activity in the afternoon.

The national weather agency advises drivers to use caution when driving and consider postponing trips until conditions improve.
