Drivers in Ontario will be paying more for new driver's licences, licence renewals and licence plate renewal stickers starting Thursday.
The province attributes the rise to an increase cost to maintain highway infrastructure across Ontario.
The cost of an original driver's licence and renewal fee, including the driver licensing fee as part of the Enhanced Driver Licence, will increase from $81.50 to $90
The increased price for a one year licence sticker renewal to be $120 for residents in southern Ontario. The current cost is $108.
For people living in the northern reaches of the province, the cost will only be $60 – it’s currently $54.
The above increases are for passenger and light commercial vehicles (less than 3,000 kg) for personal use.
