Swimmer drowns at Sauble Beach

A young adult drowned at Sauble Beach in South Bruce Peninsula.

A call of two people in distress while swimming in Lake Huron Tuesday at 3:46 p.m., sent emergency crews rushing to the scene.

One person was brought to shore safely.

The second person was carried to shore, and lifesaving measures were performed. However, a 22-year-old Mississauga person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victims will not be released due to privacy for the family.

The Grey Bruce OPP wants to thank all bystanders for their assistance with the rescue.
