The entire region remains under a snow squall watch.

The open water of Lake Huron and strong westerly winds are producing perfect conditions for snow squalls.

Environment Canada says the low pressure system moving over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay is capable of producing 10-20cm every 12 hours.

Winds as strong as 80km/h could cause blowing snow and zero visibility on the roads today into Tuesday.

Areas east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are expected to be hit the hardest.

With this storm, Environment Canada says driving conditions will become “hazardous to nearly impossible, especial on Tuesday,” and advise people to consider postponing travel if possible.

It is expected that conditions will improve on Wednesday.
