Four people face charges in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Collingwood that police say led to loaded, semi-automatic handguns being seized.

Provincial police say investigators identified suspects trafficking drugs in Collingwood and Owen Sound.

On Tuesday, police say officers executed a coordinated operation that resulted in the arrests of two people from Mississauga, one from Milton and one from Scarborough, all in their 20s.

Officers allegedly seized 41 grams of fentanyl, nearly 70 grams of cocaine, two weapons, cash and drug paraphernalia.

The four accused now face multiple charges related to drug possession and firearm offences.
