A community group that's been fighting plans for a power project on the Bala Falls has been ordered to pay the Township of Muskoka Lakes' legal expenses.
The Save the Bala Falls group took the township to court over land that was being leased to Swift River Energy for the project.
However, a judge said the community groups' injunction did not reflect the interest of township residents and fined the group $29,000.
On Friday, Muskoka Lakes Mayor Don Furniss told CTV News the township's costs were actually $40,000, but said they'll respect the judge's decision.
