BARRIE, ONT. -- Finding your way around Barrie's Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) just got a little easier.
The hospital launched a new navigational tool called 'RVH Maps.'
Once you have the app on your device, you can choose detailed directions for the parking lot, the entrances, the various departments and amenities inside the building.
Using google maps, a 3-D model of the hospital, both inside and out, appears along with traditional written directions.
The app also offers voice prompts and will re-route if the user gets off track.
The goal of the app is to improve the patient and visitor experience.
"Since the COVID-19 pandemic, navigating within RVH has changed dramatically due to the closure of some entrances, the absence of our beloved volunteers to assist with directions and changes to department locations," says Nancy Savage, executive vice president, Patient & Family Experience.
Maps and directions to some off-site locations are also available.
The app is available in mobile app stores (Apple and Google Play) by searching and downloading 'RVH Maps.'
