The winner was announced on Thurs., Aug. 29.
Glen M. said he couldn't believe it when he found out he had won the jackpot.
"I thought it was a call for maybe an X-ray or something," he chuckled. "It still really hasn't hit."
He told CTV News he buys tickets for the draw for personal reasons.
"It's paying it forward for me, in my eyes. RVH has done so much for me and my friends; it's the least I can do every month," he said.
The latest win becomes the organization's second-largest double-month jackpot.
In January, an Orillia woman won nearly $695,000 in the draw.
The monthly draw is more than just a chance to win money; it is crucial in supporting local health care, including expanding the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Simcoe County's largest hospital, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
The draw has since reset and is quickly growing, with Early Bird prize draws for $10,000 on Sept. 12 and Sept. 19.
The grand prize deadline is Sept. 25 at 11:59 p.m.
Tickets are available online in bundles or can be purchased in person at the Georgian Mall once a month.
"I just encourage everybody to participate, buy your tickets, and hopefully you'll be a winner as well," Glen concluded.
