Road closed for 'suspicious' structure fire

Emergency crews tended to a structure fire in Tottenham Saturday morning that has been deemed suspicious.
According to New Tecumseth’s fire chief, crews responded to a fully involved fire in a storage building on Tottenham Road near 3rd Line at around 8:30 a.m., adding that the fire was also in additional buildings on the site.
Mutual aid apparatuses from King Township and Adjala-Tosorontio Township, as well as Nottawasaga OPP officers in six to seven OPP cruisers were also reportedly on scene.
Officials confirm that the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified as the fire is being deemed suspicious.
Nottawasaga OPP has closed Tottenham Road from 2nd Line to 3rd Line until further notice. The OPP’s Crime Unit, Canine Unit, and Emergency Response Team (ERT) are also engaged according to Nottawasaga OPP.
No injuries were reported as of Saturday afternoon. It is unknown how long the area will be closed for.
