Police at a R.I.D.E check garnered more than they expected when they ended up arresting all occupants of a car.

A vehicle was stopped on Highway 35 near Golf Course Road in the city of Kawartha Lakes Monday at 2:35 a.m.

As the provincial police spoke with the four passengers and driver of the vehicle, they decided to conduct a drug investigation.

The male driver and all four passengers – two men, two women – were arrested and charged with dozens of offences including possession of cocaine, possession of a prohibited device, drive with liquor readily available, fail to surrender insurance or a driver's licence.

Police say the two male passengers were held in custody as they had both failed their probation orders.
