Former Ont. teacher charged with sexually assaulting a teen nearly 50 years ago
A senior from Clearview Township faces charges in connection with an investigation into a sexual assault involving a teen nearly 50 years ago.
Huronia West OPP arrested the 77-year-old after launching the investigation back in April.
Police say the allegation stems back to between 1978 and 1979, when the accused was a teacher at Stayner Collegiate Institute.
“The OPP are concerned there may be more victims in relation to this investigation,” the police release stated.
OPP reminds the public there is no statute of limitations on sexual offences. A report can be made at any time, regardless of how much time has passed.
The service encourages anyone with information on this or a similar incident to contact Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
