Orillia Deputy Fire Chief Chris Ferry said the fire started in the home's basement.
He added that paramedics checked two of the four family members for injuries, and one person was taken to the hospital to be assessed and was later released.
Ferry said Victim Services have been called to help find shelter for the family after the fire.
He said the cause of the fire was electrical, and when asked about the damage value, Ferry said it would be "unlivable" due to fire damage in the basement and smoke and water damage on the main floor.
The fire was put out shortly before 9 p.m.
The family launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for housing and supplies after losing everything in the fire, including their two cats.
