'A blessing,' Health care worker wins top prize with scratch lottery ticket
A health care worker from Borden is celebrating winning $250,000 with a scratch ticket she purchased for $10 at CANEX on El Alamein Road.
Carolyn Boyer said she couldn’t believe her luck after being a regular lottery player for nearly 20 years.
“I was playing my ticket at my kitchen table when I saw that I had matched three palm tree symbols. I continued to play the ticket before going back to reveal what prize I had won. When I saw the prize amount, I was shocked,” she said while picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Boyer said she was in disbelief over having won the top prize.
“I scanned my ticket on the OLG app to confirm. I think I scanned it three times,” she chuckled.
The Borden woman called the win a blessing.
“I plan to use this win to invest in my family’s future. I’m thankful for the opportunity this win gives me to support the people and causes that mean so much to me,” she finished.
