Multi-vehicle crash involving dump truck sends 3 to hospital

Three people were hospitalized after police say a dump truck struck four vehicles in Newmarket on Monday afternoon.

Police say the dump truck was travelling in the opposite direction of the vehicles when the crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the area of Davis Drive and Warden Avenue.

One person suffered minor injuries, another more serious injuries and a third driver was rushed to a trauma centre with life-altering injuries.

Police say the dump truck driver was not injured.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including anyone with dash camera footage of the area around the time of the collision.
