More than two hundred people enjoyed a meal together at St James Anglican Church in Orillia on Monday.
The church usually prepares a free Christmas dinner, but this is the first year the congregation put one on at Thanksgiving.
“At a time like this there are families who are alone in the midst of busy lives…It’s important to be able to come together as community,” says Reverend Carol Hardie.
More than a dozen turkeys were prepared for the group. The number of people who attended far exceeded organizers expectations.
