One of three young adults facing a slew of sex-related charges over allegations involving children will remain behind bars.
22-year-old Shayne Lund of Penetanguishene is currently facing 100 charges. On Friday the Crown Attorney provided Lund’s lawyer with material for disclosure, including a hard drive full of information and evidence related to those charges.
The judge denied a Crown request to have Shayne Lund’s father added to the growing list of people Lund cannot have any contact with. The Crown argued the move was necessary to protect the integrity of the investigation. Lund’s father is an OPP officer. The judge said he could not find any grounds to grant the request.
Also accused in the case are 19-year-old Kathryn Thompson and 20-year-old Avery Taylor. They’re each facing 16 sex and child pornography related charges.
The OPP won’t comment on the investigation.
All three accused are scheduled to make separate court appearances next month.
