A Mulmur Township man has been charged with manslaughter in connection to a death on Friday.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Dufferin County Road 21, at around 7:15 p.m., where police say 43-year-old Gordon Josie of Dundalk was found dead. Josie recently returned to the area from western Canada, where he was working in the oil industry.

On Sunday, officers arrested a 58-year-old man in connection to the death. He has since been charged with manslaughter.

Josie’s family says the two men knew each other and were having a New Year’s drink on the day of the death. Police say there was some kind of altercation, but no weapons were involved.

The accused is expected to appear before an Orangeville court on Thursday for a bail hearing.
