Barrie Police have arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with a theft at Beer Store on Anne Street on Tuesday morning.
Police say around 9:30 a.m., one man was returning empties when a second man grabbed a case of beer near a cash register and fled the store.
About an hour later the two men returned to the store with more empties. One man waited outside and was confronted by the store manager who recognized him.
The two men took off on foot and ran into a bushed area next to Tiff’s restaurant.
On Thursday morning police arrested the man and charged him with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of breach of recognizance.
