Bryan Tamblyn was packing up the last of his campaign signs on Wednesday, but the Liberal candidate isn’t conceding yet.

Tamblyn lost the new riding of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte to Conservative Alex Nuttall by just 110 votes during Monday's federal election.

On Wednesday, representatives from both parties were at the riding’s returning office, while Elections Canada officials verified no mistakes were made.

After three and half hours, the returning officer says the outcome won't change and there won't be an automatic recount.

Even with the verification, the race isn’t over yet. The Liberals are still considering asking a judge to order a judicial recount.

"Basically they looked all the votes and rejected and spoiled ballots and there are some discrepancy’s there and that's something the lawyers at the Liberal Party will be considering that," says Tamblyn.

Nuttall says he's focusing on the job ahead.

“The validation confirmed what we already know,” says Nuttall. “We're continuing to organize and set up an officer to proceed with representing people of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte.”

The Liberals now have four days to request a recount. If one is granted, a recount will happen no later than next week.
