Lengthy road closure starts in Bradford as part of $17M project
County Road 4 in Bradford West Gwillimbury will close for nearly two months as part of a $17.4 million project to reconstruct and rehabilitate local roads.
County Road 4 between Line 9 and 11 and Line 10 between Sideroad 10 and County Road 4 will be closed to through traffic from Monday until Dec. 13, when crews will pause work for the winter.

Crews will take on the replacement of the Scanlon Creek culvert at the County Road 4 and Line 10 intersection.
The seven-week closure will force motorists to detour around the area, except for strict access to residential and commercial properties within the construction area, including Bradford Greenhouses, which will remain open with access from Line 12 or Yonge Street.
The County of Simcoe says work is expected to resume in the spring.
The project consists of widening County Road 4 to four lanes, adding signals to the Line 9 intersection, installing Line 10 intersection illumination, new storm sewers, drainage, ditching, and a multi-use pathway.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
