One person is dead following a single-vehicle collision in New Tecumseth on Friday night.

Police responded to the call between 9:20 p.m. on Sideroad 17 between Second and Third lines.

According to police, the lone driver, a 45-year-old Georgetown man, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
