Large amount of alcohol taken during break-in at Midland establishment

Police were summoned to a break-and-enter and theft at a King Street restaurant in Midland.

Two people are believed to have broken in at 5:40 a.m. Sunday and taken a large quantity of alcohol.

Police say by using electronic surveillance, one person was identified and charged after being located later in the morning intoxicated at a nearby coffee shop.

A 50-year-old Midland man was charged with various offences including breaking and entering, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000 and not complying with a probation order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.

Police are still looking for the second suspect.
