A young woman accused of numerous crimes, entered guilty pleas Thursday in a Barrie courtroom.
It is the latest development in a case that involves troubling crimes against children.
Kathryn Thompson stood before the judge as her charges were read out. As Thompson entered her guilty pleas, she broke down crying before the court.
Thompson pleaded guilty to 11 charges, she had been facing 26. There is no world if the other charges against her will be withdrawn.
A number of the crimes she pleaded guilty to involve child pornography – including making and possessing it.
The charges also include:
- Bestiality
- Conspiring to administer a noxious substance
- Conspiring to commit sexual assault.
Thompson has been jointly charged with Shayne Lund and Avery Taylor. The three are facing dozens of charges in total, many involving crimes against young children. Most of the crimes allegedly happened in Penetanguishene and Orillia.
A publication ban prevents us from reporting any evidence in this case or the identity of the victims.
Thompson has been out on bail. Her co-accused, Lund and Taylor remain in custody. The preliminary hearing for them has been going on since November.
Thompson was not sentenced on Thursday and was not taken into custody. She will be back in court in two weeks.
