A young man who pleaded guilty to sex crimes against children in the Orillia area is back in court.

Shayne Lund and his lawyer were in a Barrie courtroom on Thursday, where a judge reviewed facts about the case.

Two women in their 20’s, who said they had sexual relationships with Lund when they were 12 and 14, took the stand. These women are not connected to Lund’s current case, but shared some graphic testimony about his past.

The first witness said "he needed to have sex every day." She spoke of a time when it was non-consensual, saying "my pants were off and he continued to have sex with me after I said no."

She told the court "he often said he liked when people said 'no' and ‘squirmed.’"

"He told me he liked when they tried to get away."

Lund was charged back in 2013 along with two women, Avery Taylor and Kathryn Thompson.

Lund has pleaded guilty to 35 charges, including sexual assault, making and possessing child pornography, and bestiality.

Taylor and Thompson have already been sentenced to jail time.

The second witness gave testimony about four sexual encounters with Lund.

“I told him to stop and he wouldn't let me up," she said. "When he was done he had that sick look on his face."

When the incident was over, she told the court she had blood all over her.

"I was confused on what happened,” she said. “I didn't know what I did to deserve it."

Eleven years later when asked why she didn't say anything at the time, she said she was scared.

The woman explained that Lund would constantly tell her "if you don't do this you'll be the one that regrets it because I will tell your mom."

The hearing was cut short because one of the witnesses broke down on the stand and became ill.

A hearing will also be held to determine if Lund should be declared a long-term offender.

It’s a process that will pave the way for his eventual sentence.
