Former Barrie police constable Jason Nevill has been released from a jail in northwestern Ontario on a one-year probation.
Nevill served two-thirds of his sentence and was released just after 9 a.m. today. He was given one day off for every two days of good behaviour.
"I can confirm that Mr. Jason Nevill ... entered the Ministry's custody on October 17, 2013 and was released from custody following completion of his sentence on June 17, 2014.
