The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire that caused about $2 million in damage to a public works garage just north of Bala Wednesday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but investigators believe the fire started on a work truck that had a build up of salt on the electrical circuts and wiring.
The garage houses trucks and equipment used by the Township of Muskoka Lakes. Three trucks, including a dump truck and a loader were badly damaged. Some of the equipment was salvaged.
The fire broke out around 6 p.m. and firefighters from three different stations responded. Crews were able to get the blaze under control around 1 a.m. Thursday.
No one was working inside the garage when the fire started and there were no injuries.
At this point, it's unclear if the building will have to be torn down.
