A large quantity of drugs was seized Sunday during a routine evening R.I.D.E. check.

Provincial police pulled over a vehicle on Vindin Street in Midland at around 11 p.m.

After speaking with the driver, police began a search of the car.

During the investigation, a quantity of suspected cocaine, cannabis, Oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia and over $5,500 in Canadian currency was seized.

Police charged a 48-year-old Tay Township man with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, as well as other drugs.

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
