With an ambitious goal of reaching $450,000 to help 1,950 families this year – the largest amount it has ever served – the Barrie & District Christmas Cheer reaches parents and their children in Barrie, Innisfil, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, and Angus.
Through the communities' generosity, more than $300,000 has already been raised.
But it's not enough.
"This year’s record demand highlights the growing challenges so many families are facing," said Sandra Yaquo, president of Barrie & District Christmas Cheer. "With just one day left before we start delivering hampers, we're calling on the community to help us ensure every family gets the support they need this Christmas."
